Research

Charlotte has over a decade of experience working to improve health equity and reduce disparities in underserved communities. Prior to UC Davis, Charlotte developed and managed National Cancer Institute-supported clinical trials for Children’s Oncology Group. She has also taught public health nutrition courses at Cal State Northridge, Cal Poly Pomona, and Sacramento State University. Charlotte's research uses community-engaged methods to explore social determinants of health, cancer care delivery, behavior change, and program development and implementation. As part of the Fejerman Lab, she has received funding from the Safeway Foundation and the National Institutes of Health Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service Award F31-Diversity Predoctoral Fellowship through the National Cancer Institute. Charlotte hopes to support evidence-based policy and practice transformation to improve nutrition access and cancer outcomes.
